THE I.B.A. BOYS LEAGUE

The IBA Boys League seeks to instill an appreciation for the game of basketball and its fundamentals while promoting ideal of good sportsmanship and fair play among its participants. To that end, the IBA Boys League will administer a non-profit youth athletic program co-sponsored by the City of Irving.

WHO CAN PLAY?

7 and 8 years old

9 and 10 years old

11 and 12 years old

Players' age is as of August 1, 2011. Six years old, who have started the first grade, may play in the 7 and 8 year old age group, but only with the consent of the head coach only.

HOW ARE TEAMS FORMED?

Coaches can recruit players who live or attend school in Irving or the surrounding areas. If a player has previously played in the I.B.A. and wishes to return, they must play for the team they previously played for unless they have sat out 2 complete seasons. Last year players are not free agents. They must play with the team they played for the previous season. Coaches will contact all players once assigned to a team.

UNIFORMS?

Each team will be responsible for the purchase of their uniforms. There is a $30 cap per player for the purchase of uniforms.

WHAT DO I NEED TO PLAY?

A pair of non-marking basketball shoes with a non-sliding sole.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

Player Fee is $60 per player. This fee covers limited insurance, officials, 10 regular season games, playoffs and Family Day. Players will not have to sell family day raffle tickets. Family Day is a day filled with food, fun, door prizes, and All-Star Games for the enjoyment of league players. Registration fee is due at time of registration and is payable by cash, money order or check. This fee is non-refundable after the child has been placed with a team.

HOW DO I REGISTER?

Early Registration will be from Oct. 1 - Dec. 2, 2011.

All new players must have a copy of their birth certificate. You will need to return this application along with the registration fee to one of the registration sites or mail it to:

LATE REGISTRATION

$80 per player - Dec. 3 - Dec. 17, 2011

The IBA Boys League, through its board of directors, shall reserve the right to deny participation in its activities to any team, player, coach, parent or adult volunteer whose conduct or behaviors reflect itself in a manner that is detrimental to the best interests of the IBA Boys League. Players, coaches, parents and/or adult volunteers who engage in unsportsmanlike conduct or behavior such as fighting, abusive language, or any similar derogatory activity may be suspended by the board of directors for one or more games or ejected from the league.
